Linda (Wright) Schuerman Obituary (1940 – 2022)

Linda Ann Schuerman of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully December 18, 2022.

Linda was born September 8, 1940 to Bill and Eileen Wright in San Francisco, California. The family moved to Ashland, Oregon and Linda graduated from Ashland High School as the valedictorian of her class in 1958. She attended Southern Oregon College and Oregon State where she received a bachelors degree in Chemistry. She attended graduate school at Oregon State University where she worked toward a doctorate in Chemistry.

In 1959 she met Fred Schuerman while she was working in the registrar’s office at Southern Oregon College. He gave her a big wink and a smile and later joked he knew that he had met “Miss Wright”. In 1963 they were married began their lifelong adventures and real estate development business.

Fred and Linda moved to Boise, Idaho in 1971. They started a construction business and built over 50 homes in the Highlands above Crane Creek Country Club. They eventually transitioned into constructing commercial office buildings throughout Boise, Idaho and luxury townhomes in Ketchum, Idaho. They still own and manage many of the commercial buildings they constructed. Linda’s attention to detail and drive paired well with Fred’s construction design and experience and they were true entrepreneurs and built a wonderful life together.

Linda loved to play tennis and was an active member at the Crane Creek Country Club for many years. In addition to tennis, she had a love of the mountains and outdoors. She lived an active life, taking bicycle trips up the Oregon/Washington coast, camping, windsurfing and snow skiing.

In 2002, Linda and Fred purchased Sockeye Grill and Brewery. She was very involved in the business and was very proud to own Sockeye. She worked tirelessly on the interior design and exterior landscaping for the Fairview Avenue restaurant and brewery. Her vision of a peaceful mountain lodge setting truly came to life with all of her vision.

Linda loved the water and she and Fred were able to spend time at their home on Mitchell Bay in the San Juan Islands of Washington. She was also an active member in the San Juan Island Golf and Tennis Club and enjoyed playing tennis there.

Linda was such a kind and generous person. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, January 6 at 2 p.m. at the Sockeye Grill and Brewery Production Warehouse, 12550 W. Fairview Avenue, Boise, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peace Island Volunteers in Linda’s name.
