Construction output prices increased significantly in 2021

Vienna,2022-02-10 – The construction output price index for the entire building construction and civil engineering sector (base year 2020) reached 105.3 index points (+5.3%) in 2021, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. In the fourth quarter of 2021, this index altered to 108.0 points, which represents a growth of 7.4% over the fourth quarter of 2020. In comparison to the third quarter of 2021, the construction output price index increased by 1.3%.

The construction output price index of building construction changed to 108.2 index points for the year 2020, which is an increase of 8.2% in comparison to 2020. Whereas the index of civil engineering increased by 1.3% to 101.3 index points in the same period.
